Our Story
How Right First Time UK Began
Right First Time UK was not created in a boardroom.
It was built from real experiences, real struggles, and a determination to help others find answers when they need them most.
For many years, we experienced and watched individuals and families struggle to understand systems that were supposed to help them. Housing, child maintenance,
benefits, disability support,
safeguarding, complaints
processes, family courts, local councils, and many other public
services often appeared
complicated, difficult to navigate, and overwhelming for ordinary people.
Time and time again, we saw people asking the same questions:
"Where do I start?"
"Who can help me?"
"What are my rights?"
"What should happen next?"
Too often, the answers were difficult to find.
In Memory of Robert Andrew Kellett
Known to many as Andy.
Andy spent years helping others understand systems that many people found impossible to navigate alone.
He shared information freely.
He explained processes.
He helped people understand complaint routes.
He supported individuals and families who were struggling to find answers during some of the most
difficult periods of their lives.
Hundreds of people benefited from his willingness to help.
He believed that information should be available to everyone, not just those with specialist knowledge, legal representation, or professional support.
His belief was simple:
People deserve clear information, fair treatment, and the opportunity to understand the systems that
affect their lives.
Inspired by Others
Our story is also shaped by the experiences of many others.
We remember countless of individuals and families whose lives were affected by overwhelming
pressures, financial hardship, debt, enforcement action, housing difficulties, safeguarding concerns, and systems that were often difficult to understand.
Every story is different.
Every circumstance is unique.
But together they remind us of one important truth:
Behind every case file is a person.
Behind every complaint is a family.
Behind every decision is a life that may be affected.
These experiences reinforce why accessible information, early
support, and public awareness matter.
Why We Continue
We know that many people do not struggle because they are unwilling to seek help.
They struggle because they do not know where to find it.
Many people simply need:
- clear information
- practical guidance
- trusted support pathways
- an understanding of their rights
- confidence to ask questions
- knowledge of how services should work
That is why Right First Time UK exists.
To bring information together in one place.
To make guidance easier to understand.
To help people feel informed,
supported, and less alone.
Looking Forward
We believe that better information can lead to better outcomes.
When people understand systems, they are better able to:
- access support
- protect their families
- challenge problems appropriately
- seek help earlier
- make informed decisions
Our hope is simple.
To help create a future where fewer people feel overwhelmed, fewer families face avoidable hardship, and more people understand the support available to them.
Because understanding should never be a barrier to receiving help.
And because sometimes, the right information at the right time can change a life.
We all don't ask for much in how we are all treated in our life experiences we only ask for;
Fairness, Accountability, Safeguarding, Transparency, Reforms and
Improvement Across Public Services
